Mayfield is not at all a forgotten suburb without the domination of BHP. It has tons of history and is a fast growing popular place to live. It even has a new look to its swimming pool

Liz visited St Dominic’s Centre for Hearing Impaired Children in Mayfield. Pupils and their grandparents shared memories and drawings about Newcastle’s Harbour as part of their Book Giving Assembly, sticking them onto a map outline that showed port areas from Mayfield to Nobby’s.

You can see these drawings on The Big Port Map outside The Maritime Centre.
